Pitt Lake
Grant Narrows Park
Take Harris Road
(north) and turn right (east) onto McNeil Road.
Follow McNeil Road to Neaves Road and turn left
(north). Continue down Neaves Road to Grant Narrows.
Pitt Lake at Grant
Narrows has lots of parking, a picnic area, portable
washrooms and a seasonal concession stand. The
Pitt Addington Marsh is on the east side of the
dyke that divides the marsh from the lake. The
Marsh area is home to a variety of bird species
and it is possible to walk completely around the
marsh. There are 2 observation towers open to
the public to allow a better view of the lake
and the marsh.
Grant Narrows National
Park has a boat ramp and overnight parking of
vehicles (for a fee). Across Grant Narrows to
Widgeon Creek you will find a popular spot for
canoeists. The creek is shallow, calm and very
relaxing with a good deal of wildlife to view.
If you follow the creek to the left at the fork
it will take you to a canoeist's campsite that
is available on a first come first serve basis.
Using the campsite as a base, there is a great
hike up to the falls and Widgeon Lake. There are
about 10 campsites and pit toilets. |
